How to generate a QR code
There may be situations where translation services are needed, but the individual in need is not onsite to use the ILA's Guest tablet. The ILA can be remotely connected to using the Host ILA's associated QR Codes.
To generate a printable QR code, and obtain the associated URL, please follow the instructions below.
Tap/click on the desired QR Code.
The URL associated with that Room appears right beneath the QR code in the pop-up box. On ILA Web you can copy this link straight from the website and send it to whoever you would like. On the ILA Pro tablets and ILA Roam phones, you will need to write down the link and type it into your computer to save it.
Tap/click the “Email QR Code” button to proceed. A new window will open to a webform.
Enter in your Email Address and press “Generate QR Code.” You will receive an email that contains an image of the QR code. Note: The email comes from WordPress and may go to your spam folder.
NOTE: Please wait for the pop-up confirming that the email was sent, as multiple clicks will generate multiple emails.
On ILA Pro/Roam: Tap the X in the upper left to close this webform.
Tips:
- Store the QR code in a convenient location, and save the URL in a easy-to-find document, so you can access and use them at any time.
- The QR code and URL will remain unchanged unless you change your Room Code.
- Keep the QR codes and URLs for your 1 on 1 Room and your Broadcast Room labeled separately so you can easily distinguish between them.
Alternatively, if the tablet is not currently available a QR code can still be manually generated if the Room Code is known.
Go to the link below to access the same webform as above, enter the Room Code, and a JPEG file of the QR code will be sent to the provided email addressed.
