How is the ILA Different from Google Translate?

The ILA has several advantages over using Google Translate.  All of the items listed below are advantages the ILA has that Google Translate does not have.

Privacy and Security

All communication to and from the ILA is encrypted and private.  Conversation data is not saved or analyzed and no information is stored on any ILA device or TranslateLive platform.  There is no way to recall any conversation transcript.

Accessibility

The ILA provides access for those with Disabilities.  The device can be used by the hard of hearing, deaf, deaf-blind, blind, low vision as well as those with speech and mobility disabilities. 
The ILA supports 3.5mm headsets, Bluetooth for earbuds/headsets, Android-compatible braille displays, and Android-compatible loop systems.

  1. The ILA is always connected and ready to use, and takes less than 5 seconds to start a conversation.
  2. The ILA is a pair of devices, with a host and guest, meaning the ILA allows an individual to choose their language and dialect on their own side of the device.
  3. The ILA can provide the additional ability to connect to real person Live Interpreter in 250 Languages. Sign Language is supported by the live interpreter option, utilizing a video call with the device cameras.
  4. The ILA allows all parties to see their spoken words in text in real time.  All individuals immediately know if the ILA understood them correctly and if not, the user can re-speak, spell out loud, or type using the available keyboard.
  5. The ILA allows for someone to connect remotely and have a conversation translated live.  The individuals using it don’t need to be in the same physical location, or even have an ILA device.
  6. The ILA provides a broadcast mode allowing a single speaker’s voice to simultaneously be translated to thousands of users in their own language in real time, regardless of geographical location.
  7. The ILA doesn’t require the passing back and forth of a device, as it is comprised of a pair of tablets that each individual can hold.
  8. The ILA can be placed on any size counter top and be secured using a K-lock.
  9. The ILA allows for pre-configured phrases for faster interactions such as providing information that regularly needing to be shared, or going through commonly asked questions, by selecting the desired phrase from a list and sending it to the guests.
