Best Practices: Internet Connectivity

The ILA Pro and ILA Roam requires a strong Wi-Fi signal and a connection to the internet to communicate with TranslateLive servers. Without this connection, the ILAs will not function.

To verify that the ILA is connected to Wi-Fi, you can check the notification bar for the Wi-Fi signal strength symbol.
  1. On Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, swipe down from the top of the screen to view the notification icons.
  2. On the Rhino T80 and Rhino C6, the notification bar is always visible.
If the Wi-Fi symbol shows low signal, the ILAs will have behave poorly, sometimes being slow to translate, or not translate at all.
Packet loss will cause the ILAs to not function very well, and certain network Intrusion Detection Systems that perform packet capture can prevent the ILAs from functioning.

Please review this link an overview of the security of the ILA, which covers the needed ports for the ILA to function: https://www.translatelive.com/security-overview/
